Murder of James Crick - Page 5
Bedfordshire Libraries, 2007
Continued from Page 4.
Mr Crick was about 40 years of age, a widower, without children and he rented a small dairy farm from the Right Honourable Earl Spencer on which he usually kept seven or eight cows. His housekeeper was a widow about 50 years of age, having one adult son. The housekeeper was taken for burial at Cranfield and Mr Crick was buried in Lidlington. "A blacker deed never disgraced the annals of any place than this premeditated, barbarous, and most atrocious murder!"
