Quick Reads and Skills for Life

The Quick Reads section in Central Bedfordshire and Skills for Life section in Bedford Borough are designed to help people improve their reading and gain new confidence with books. The stock is centred on Quick Reads, but also includes a variety of books aimed at readers with different needs and abilities, as well as non-fiction books. Bedfordshire Libraries also have a range of books that can help with writing and grammar, numeracy, using computers and IT, and money management.

Quick ReadsQuick Reads are shorter books by well known writers. They are great stories on a variety of topics, aimed at adults who've stopped reading or find reading tough, and for regular readers who want a short, fast read. Quick Reads can improve confidence for readers, and help newer readers find enjoyment in reading. Authors include James Patterson, Sheila OFlanagan, Andy McNab, Alison Weir, and many others.
