Stars
By Alistair Clay
Those Legends
of celluloid
From Bogart to Chaney,
They brightened the screens,
For the fans every day.
From the Horrors of Hitchcock
To the capers of Chaplin,
They taught us to smile,
They taught us to cry,
They showed how to whistle,
And to say a goodbye.
Now the stars
are on Blu-ray,
On Freeview and Sky,
Portraying our heroes,
From Indy, to Holmes.
We’ve watched as they cried,
As they won or they died.
We’ve sat back and watched,
The originals and re-makes,
We’ve groaned at bad sequels,
And laughed at the spoofs.
From Killer
Tomatoes
To old Casablanca,
We cherish those stars
And we mourn their passing.
When they do pass on,
We celebrate them,
With marathons on Sky movies
Of all their great works.
