How long may I borrow a DVD?
All DVDs are loaned for a week. Items may be renewed for a further week with the same charge.
Can I reserve a DVDs and how much does it cost?
Yes you can reserve DVDs, both online and in your local library.

Can I see a list of all the DVDs in stock?
Yes you can. Visit the online library catalogue and click on the Advanced search option. Select the Class number from the top drop down. Enter DVD into the search box, select 'DVDs' from the Type of Stock dropdown list and click Search. This will return a list of all the DVDs in stock divided into their categories.
Can I request and borrow DVDs from Luton Libraries?
No you cannot. Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire Libraries and Luton Libraries are three separate local authorities who work in partnership to provide a joint catalogue. We share the majority of our stock across the border, but not DVDs or CDs.
Can I find the title of a DVD by a star in the film?
Yes, you can by searching the online library catalogue. for the actors name in the Keyword search field. However, only the main stars of films are recorded in the catalogue, so you may not find all the films the actor has starred in are returned. Once you have identified the film titles you can search for them using
Alternatively you can identify the titles of the your favourite actor has starred in, visit the Films section of Weblinks. You will find a site recommended called the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) at www.imdb.com, this is the place to find film information. Once you have identified the film titles you can search for them using the online library catalogue.

Can I find a DVD by a film director?
Yes you can. Simply use the 'Author' search on the online library catalogue.

Are there information DVDs?
Yes there are. Did you want to learn a new language, keep fit, watch a travel DVD, improve your gardening or learn to paint. All these skills and many more can be seen on DVD.
Search on the catalogue under the subject you are looking for.

Do you still stock videos?
Video stocks have now been phased out of branch libraries however a small collection is still available on request
