Want to listen to a book?

All Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire Libraries lend spoken word CDs. There is a charge for a 3-week loan.  For details of the charges in your authority, click here. The issue period may be different on the mobile libraries. If you are registered blind or partially-sighted then you may borrow these items free of charge.

Inevitably the choice at each library is limited but a proportion of stock is rotated quarterly to ensure a changing selection. If you cannot find the title you want on the shelf then use Viewpoint our online catalogue to request it. You can use an advanced search to look at just spoken word on the catalogue.

We also offer a free downloadable e-audio service - a collection of over 1,000 titles that can be downloaded to and listened to via your mobile device, MP3 player, PC and laptop.
