Further information | Former shop assistant window dresser, then textile spinner, aged 17. Transferred to Bedfordshire 19 September 1947. Involved in a collision between Land Army truck containing Land Girls with a truckload of Italian POWs travelling in the opposite direction. Suffered fractured ribs and concussion and was granted early release from the WLA. |
