Mobile Library Routes and Visits

News Alert - New Routes

Following a consultation earlier this year which saw over 80% of respondents agreeing with the proposals, changes have been introduced to the Mobile Library and Library Link service.

The new timetable has been reorganised in response to the consultation results by targeting stops where they are most needed in the community, and every village and care home that previously received the service will continue to. Residents will also benefit from new Mobile Library and Library Link vehicles, bringing an improved and more cost efficient service.

The Mobile Library service takes our fantastic libraries on the road visiting communities across the Borough, while the Library Link service serves residents who are unable to reach their local library making regular visits to individual housebound users, residential homes, and sheltered housing scheme.

The new routes started on Monday 2nd October.

Bedford Borough has a mobile library and a Library Link vehicle, which visits those people who cannot come to a library.

Details of the routes are listed in the pdf document below, click on the title to download the information.

The mobile libraries carry a variety of stock, take reservations and join new members.  If you are a member of the Library Service already or wish to join you can find out where the mobile stops near you right here!

Register for Text Local to be informed if there are problems with the mobile library service.
Download the form and hand it in on the mobile or in a library.

The Library Link vehicles are more specialist - delivering to residential homes and housebound customers across the county. More information about Library Link.
