What kind of armed services records are available?
- Records about people in the armed services include, for example, lists
of members of the individual services, lists of individuals serving in
wartime, lists of individuals who died in wartime, registers of medal
holders, army pension records, personal diaries, war memorials and lists
of war graves
- You can find detailed guidance in books about armed services
records and family history. Go to the
library catalogue and click 'Search' then choose to search by 'Subject'
and enter armed forces. At the resulting list, click 'Armed forces,
genealogy, guides'
