  • Zinio - A selection of downloadable e-magazines that can be downloaded for free or read online.
  • Times Digital Archive - complete and fully searchable digital editions of The Times from 1785 - 2007
  • Only a few individual newspaper sites allow you to see past articles free. One example is The Guardian, which has an 'Archive search' option on its drop-down menu at the top of the screen
  • The British Library is also making some historical newspapers available online. See the British Library Online Newspaper Archive and The Penny Illustrated Paper for newspapers from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries
