Checking words in dictionaries
- There is a wealth of e-resources you can search, inlcuding the Oxford English Dictionary Online and more
- There are links to English dictionaries at English dictionaries on WebLinks
- Your local library will have a collection of dictionaries, search the Library Catalogue to discover what is at your local library
Using crossword solvers and anagram finders
- Crossword solvers enable you to enter a few letters of a word and find words that match those letters
- Anagram finders give you all possible variations of any letters you enter

- The e-resources offer a range of tools to solve crossword clues; in particular there is also a 'Crossword solver' in the 'Dictionaries' section of the Credo Reference and why not try using the 'wildcard' characters within Oxford English Dictionary
