Encyclopaedia Britannica online - you can search for countries by name to find long articles, maps, illustrations, video clips, magazine articles and links to reviewed web sites
Alternatively, use the 'World Atlas' feature to find country maps and related articles
See 'World Data Analyst' for masses of country statistics. You can view and compare country data from across the world
Oxford Reference Online - you can read the reference book 'Oxford Guide to Countries of the World' or check flag images and details in 'World Flags'
Credo Reference - the 'Geography' section includes online reference books such as the 'Penguin Encyclopedia of Places', the 'CIA World Factbook' and 'Cassell's Peoples, Nations and Cultures
Newspapers online - you can search articles from over 100 national and regional UK newspapers; for historical information there is also the Times Digital Archive covering 1785-2007
