ACAS: the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service
ACAS is a public body which helps to resolve disputes and issues about employees' rights. It publishes information booklets and handbooks (most available on the website) and holds workshops. Select from the list under the 'Employment Topics' button to find more out about employment policies and rights or use the A-Z index (top right hand corner).

Department of Trade and Industry
Under 'Regulatory Guidance', there are links to 'Employment Legislation' guides and 'Employment Rights Factsheets' and there is a search engine to the whole of the 'Regulatory Guidance' section. At the bottom of the search page there are very useful links to topics such as: hours of work, public holidays, European Employment Directives ....

Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT)
The Employment Appeal Tribunal deals with appeals from Employment Tribunals. Case decisions from 1999 are searchable and cover topics such as unfair dismissal, contracts and employment and sex discrimination.

Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC)
The Equal Opportunities Commission works to eliminate sex discrimination in Britain. The site has sections on equal pay rights, discrimination at work, details of EOC campaigns, statistics and research and a comprehensive law section with links to relevant legislation, codes of practice, landmark cases, tribunal and court procedures and compensation.
