WILLINGTON is a village and parish, 4 miles east from Bedford; in the hundred of Wixamtree, and diocese of Ely. The population in 1851 was 282, and in 1861 it was 290; the number of acres about 1,618.

The Church, dedicated to St. Lawrence, is a very ancient structure, with a tower and five bells. The living is a vicarage, in the gift of the Duke of Bedford, who is also lord of the manor; the Rev. Augustus Orlebar is the vicar.
