Tingrith Church12th Century: The list of incumbents goes back to 1225 but the present church dates from the 15th century.

1788: Edward Tanqueray was Rector from 1788-1846 and was followed on his death by his tenth son Truman from 1847-1899, two tenures covering nearly 112 years.

1841: School built by the Trevor sisters for 80 children.

1845-48: Extensive restoration carried out on the church to the sum of 5,000 paid for by the Trevor sisters.

1858: Clubroom erected and used for entertainments.

1868: New school building built and paid for by the Trevor sisters.

1977: The Swan Public House closes.

1988: Church Hall closed.

2005: The church receives 141,000 from English Heritage and The Heritage Lottery Fund for essential repairs (Bedfordshire on Sunday, 6th March).
