Summer Reading Challenge
Back to Teachers
The Summer Reading Challenge runs throughout the summer
holidays in every library. Children are encouraged and rewarded for reading as
many books as possible.
Research shows that this improves childrens confidence and sends them back to
school fired up and ready to learn. The Challenge is now the UKs biggest
promotion of childrens reading and attracts major partners like the
BBC.
Last year, Team Read, attracted 10,698 children from
Bedfordshire and Luton, they read 96,310 books and raised 6000 for charity!
This year the theme is Fantasy. If you want your school to be involved
please contact your local Bedfordshire
Library to arrange an assembly visit where library staff can tell them all
about it!
