How do I Request Things?

Click on the heading Search, Request, Renew above to find the Library Catalogue and then follow the instructions below!

Click on the button 'Search' or the link to 'Search the
catalogue and reserve items'
- Select the option you want to search for - Title, Author,
Subject or Keyword
Don't forget there are Advanced Search options as well Type in your search words - for example 'Rowling J K' or 'storm
runners'
- If you want only books, CDs or DVDs use the drop down arrow next to the 'Search' which shows 'All Stock'. Highlight what you would like to select by clicking on it
- Then click the 'Search' button at the bottom of the page
- You will then see a list of results
- Click on the title of the item you want to request, or the link to 'More Details'
- This will take you to a page that tells you which libraries have copies and a link to 'Reserve'
- Click 'Reserve' if you would like the title delivered to your local library
- You will be asked to login with your library card number and PIN - do this
- The item will be added to your basket, which is displayed at the top right hand side of the screen.
- From here you can continue searching for more titles or reserve the items in basket
- Click the button to 'Reserve'
- You will see a table showing the items from your basket - you can remove ones you have decided you do not want
- Make sure it shows the right library to collect the item from, you can change this by clicking on the dropdown arrow and clicking on the library you want
- Decide how you would like to be told that the title is in your library waiting for you - post, e-mail or None
- Then click the 'Reserve All' button or select the ones you want to request and click 'Reserve Selected'
- The final page you will see confirms all the titles you have requested.
Don't forget you can follow the progress of your requests by:
- Going to 'Your Account',
- Logging in with your library card number and PIN,
- Selecting 'Reservations' from the navigation
- The status column tells you what stage the request is at -
'Reserved' means we are waiting for a copy of the title to be returned to meet your request
'In transit' means the item is on it's way to your library for you
'Available' means it is on the shelf at your library waiting for you to collect it - Remember you can also click on the title of an item to see where you are in the queue
