Further information | Former insulator, aged 18. Did milking and general farm work with two other land girls, Margaret Tack and Vera Caves. Briefly worked with Dora Carlyle at the Three Counties Hospital farm, Arlesey. Married a GI, who was based during WWII at Thurleigh Airfield, and moved to the USA. First husband died in 1956 in a car accident. Later remarried in 1959. Retired to Pikeville, Tennessee. |
Eva married Houston Johnson in Bedford in 1943, with Eileen and Margie Burraway as bridesmaids. |
