RBdigital is Moving to Libby
Audiobooks Home | Books home
RBdigital and Overdrive have merged and from the 23rd March all our RB content; e-books, audiobooks and magazines, will move to the Overdrive website and app – Libby!
What is the impact for you as an RB customer?
- Loans will not transfer – the items on loan will not transfer to Libby, however those that have not expired will be available on the RB app/website until they do
- Holds (reservations) and Wishlist items will not transfer – an Excel spreadsheet of all loans, holds and wishlist items can be downloaded from the RB app and website; click on My Account >
Profile > Export my transaction history.
If you are not able to do this please make a note of the titles you have on hold and in your wishlist - Magazine back list – magazines that have been downloaded will not be transferred. However, you can still access them if you download the Zinio app or
access the Zinio website and create an account using the same email address that you used to set up your RBdigital account.
Free new magazines will only be accessible through Libby.
What does the change mean for how the service works?
- No Libby account is required – just log in with card number and PIN from now on. There is no need to even provide an email address to Libby unless you want to or you use the website, as the notifications are all within the app.
- A new enormous magazine collection – You will have access to a collection of over 3,000 titles from the UK and around the world, they will all be simultaneously accessible by multiple customers with no download limits. However, they will be loaned for a max of 3 weeks and there is no auto checkout or notification when a new edition is available. You can renew or checkout titles whenever you want.
- The Audiobook collection will be reduced slightly but hopefully this will not impact on the titles that you like to listen to.
Please do Contact Us if a title/series/author you were listening to is now missing. - New app and website – There will be information added here about the Libby app and how to use it closer to the changeover date.
You can find more information about the change here.
