Walter Henman Bedfordshire Times 6.3.1956W.N. Henman (Walter Henman) was a well-known local antiquary, and recognized as one of Bedford's foremost authorities on local history and archaeology. He was born on the 25th of May 1867 and became an apprentice bookbinder. He set up a printing press at home and printed, published and bound several books. He also became an expert photographer and maker of lantern slides. There were several thousand in his collection, many concerning the history of Bedford. He died on the 9th of March 1956.

W.N.Henman joined the Bedford Natural History Society in 1892. He was also secretary of the Bedford General Library since May 1920, and was librarian for several years.
