- The International Genealogical Index British Isles (IGI) includes details, mainly of baptisms and marriages, taken from parish registers from the British Isles, US and many other countries. You can search the IGI on the Familysearch site: click the 'Search' tab, choose 'records' then type 'International Genealogical Index' into the 'find a collection title' box
- The web site Ancestry.co.uk includes transcriptions of many local and national parish records. You can
search these records free at any Bedfordshire library on a library version of the 'Ancestry' site. If you are using a computer in a Bedford Borough or
Central Bedfordshire library now, open a web browser (for example Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox) click the Ancestry

Ancestry are offering library members access to the Library Edition from home until the end of August 2020.
Click here to log in with your library card number and PIN. - There is an ongoing project called FreeREG which aims to provide free Internet searches of records transcribed from parish and non-conformist church registers in the UK. So far only a few million records registers have been transcribed
- UK BMD links you to many national and county sites that include transcriptions of UK parish registers
- FHS Online includes transcriptions from parish registers compiled by local family history societies
