- Local newspapers are a valuable source of information on every aspect of life in your town or village
- Bedfordshire libraries hold all significant Bedfordshire newspaper titles, in hard copy and on microfilm. The earliest, the Bedfordshire Mercury, begins in 1837

- Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard and Biggleswade libraries hold long back-files of their local papers
- The other libraries have just the current issue, or a very short back-file, of their local papers
