Where can I find out more about the European Union Settlement Scheme?

If you are a European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss citizen, you and your family are able to apply online to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30th June 2021. If you are successful you will be given either settled or pre-settled status.

What you will need to apply
The Gov.UK website lists the documents you will need to prove your identity and your residence in the UK; they also state how to submit your documents.

You can use the 'EU Exit: ID Document Check App' for Android on yours or someone else’s Android mobile device. An iPhone version of the app will be avilable by the end of 2019.
There are no scanning facilities in your local library and library staff cannot verify documents.

How do I apply?
The scheme is open now and closes on 30th June 2021, or 31st December 2020 if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
You can apply using any device, for example a laptop or Android and Apple mobile device. Ensure you have all your documents in place and scanned or ready to post before you apply.
