How Virtual Library members can become eligible to use the Times Digital Archive

Are you an adult living in Bedfordshire?
- If you joined Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire Libraries as a Virtual Library member
and if you live in Bedfordshire, you can upgrade your membership to enable access to The Times Digital Archive.
Visit your local library to upgrade, all you need is identification showing your name and address - If you do not have proof a your name and address you can join as an Instant Member, this limits the number and type of stock you can borrow, but still allows you to access the e-resources and computers.
Are you an adult living outside Bedfordshire?
- If you joined Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire Libraries as a Virtual Library member and you do not live in Bedfordshire, you need to visit a Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire library to upgrade your library membership
- You can upgrade your library membership so as to become either a 'full' library member or an 'instant' library member
- Visit a library, taking with you one document that proves your name and address, click here for details of accepted proofs of identification.
- Library staff will give you a library card. You will then be able to use the Times Digital Archive by logging in with your library card number and PIN
- You will also be able to use all other library services, including borrowing items. Click here to find out all about borrowing from the library
Are you under 16 and living Bedfordshire?
- If you are under 16 and joined Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire Libraries as a Virtual Library member and if you live in Bedfordshire, you can upgrade your membership to enable access to The Times Digital Archive.
- Visit your local library . Staff at the library will give you a form for your parent or guardian to sign. Return the signed form to the library and show the library staff one document that proves your parent's or guardian's name and address. Click here for details of accepted proofs of identification
- Library staff will give you a library card. You will then be able to use the Times Digital Archive by logging in with your library card number and PIN. You may use it on library computers only if your parent or guardian has signed to give permission for you to use the Internet in the library
- If you do not have proof a your name and address you can join as an Instant Member, this limits the number and type of stock you can borrow, but stillallows you to access the e-resources and computers.
