There is an organisation called the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives whose members will undertake research for a fee. The researchers are mainly concerned with family history work but some also research finding living people
You can also find private investigators in yellow pages directories. Visit the Telephone Directories section of WebLinks for directory web sites. Bedford Central, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard libraries hold a full printed set of yellow pages for the UK. Other Bedfordshire libraries hold the local yellow pages for their area.
