Encyclopaedia Britannica online - you can search for countries by name to find long articles, maps, illustrations, video clips, magazine articles and links to reviewed web sites
Alternatively, use the 'World Atlas' feature to find country maps and related articles
See 'World Data Analyst' for masses of country statistics. You can view and compare country data from across the world
Credo Reference - the 'Geography' section includes online reference books such as the 'Penguin Encyclopedia of Places', the 'CIA World Factbook' and 'Cassell's Peoples, Nations and Cultures
PressReader - you can search articles from over 7000 national and international newspapers; for historical information there is also the Times Digital Archive covering 1785-2014
