The church dates from the 15th century but the reset 13th century piscine in chancel and a decorated window in the south wall of the nave survive from an earlier church.
Roof repairs were carried out in 1797 at a cost of 27 while in 1825 the tower was repaired at a cost of 60. In 1830 the floors were paved with brick and tiles. Further restoration took place in 1902 when the roof was repaired, the nave re-seated with open pews and a new pulpit and lectern provided. In 1964 repairs to the top of the tower resulted in the south west corner turret being removed.
