Hillersdon House

Places > Elstow > Historic Buildings > Hillersdon House

The ruins are the remains of a mansion converted from the cloisters of Elstow Abbey. The house was built for Thomas Hillersdon about 1625. The house was occupied until the late 18th century and was probably standing until the 1760s. By 1781 Hillersdon House was in ruins when Thomas Fisher drew it with the roof and the western half gone.
