Slate plaque commemorating the enlargement and improvement of St Mary's Gardens (on the south bank of the River Great Ouse), located near the Town Bridge entrance to the gardens. Erected on a stone plinth in 1973.
The inscription states:
ST MARY'S GARDENS
Enlarged and improved
for the enjoyment of the public
1973
