Mr. F. Gamman, The "Furniture Stores," Complete House Furnisher, Carpet Factor, Bedding Manufacturer, etc., 85, High Street

For nearly twenty years Mr, Gamman has done one of the best furnishing trades in Bedford, and the reason is obvious to anyone who takes a view of his very extensive stock of household goods, everything shown being of good sound workmanship throughout, and capable of plenty of hard wear. The business consists of no less than seven separate departments, which may be summed: up as follows:- Furniture, consisting of a vast assemblage of goods suited for houses of all sizes, halls, dining-rooms, drawing-rooms and kitchens, these apartments having good solid-looking chairs, tables, sideboards, suites in leather and saddle-bags, occasional chairs, cabinets, and overmantels assigned to them, while the bedrooms are allotted lighter appointments, many of which are extremely tasteful and pleasing in design. Bedsteads and bedding include brass and iron bedsteads, palliasses, spring mattresses, mattresses in wool, hair, and flock, feather beds and all et ceteras. Carpets, rugs, and floor cloths come next, and comprise the best of their respective kinds, including Turkey, Wilton, and Brussels, besides the cheaper kinds. Furnishing drapery makes an extensive stock in itself, and numbers among its items blind material, curtains, blankets, sheets, table-covers, and many other things which we have not space to enumerate. Mats and matting, china, glass and earthenware, and furnishing ironmongery complete the tale, and to these three branches are relegated many useful and ornamental oddments and services, from door-mats and dinner-table requisites to travelling trunks and electro goods. Furniture of every kind is repaired and re-upholstered, and mattresses and bedding re-made "equal to new." Mr. Gamman also undertakes the removal of furniture, plate-glass, pictures, etc., in specially-constructed pantechnicon vans, all risk being taken by him. In every department the prices are as low as is consistent with the first-class nature of the goods. Mr. Gamman himself superintends the business, aided in the different departments by experienced assistants, who are always pleased to show customers the extensive stock. The "Furniture Stores" are situated in the very centre of the main thoroughfare of the town, the large window space giving ample accommodation for a fine show, which always attracts a considerable number of the passers-by to look and admire.
