Cauldwell Street
Places > Bedford > Streets > Cauldwell Street
The street was named after the priory, which was founded in the 12th century and known as Caldwell Priory. The modern form was officially adopted in 1807.
The name means literally "cold well" and probably refers to a feature near the site of the Priory.
