An alehouse licence for these premises was first granted to William Sammons in 1751. In 1809 when it was up for sale, it comprised a brew house, 5 stables, straw barn, chaise house and storehouse.
In the 19th century when Thomas Buck was the landlord the Kings Arms was a well-known Whig house.
