Beginning to Read

Back to Under 6 Home | Books for Under 6s | Back to Under 6 Booklists

Libraries provide a range of books to support beginner readers, including picture books, story books and low level children’s information books. Look for the beginning to read section in our libraries – beginner reader storybooks have a green spot on the book spine. Don’t forget that you can use picture books to practise reading – look for picture books with rhyme, rhythm and repetition.
