Charges for replacing lost or damaged items
The replacement charge for a lost or damaged item is the listed price on the catalogue, plus 1.00. If there is no listed price on the catalogue then a member of staff will identify the cost.
Magazines replacement charges are the face value plus 70p.
There is no charge for damage to items borrowed by or for a child aged 0 - 5 years. Charges for lost children's books, adult books damaged by a child, or damaged audio-visual items still apply
British Library Lost Book Charge - The cost to replace the book is set by the British Library and includes an admin
fee
(There is a 50% refund if the book is returned to the British Library within 6 weeks)
