How do I access BorrowBox?
There are two ways to access the service
- The BorrowBox App - there is an app for Android, Apple and Kindle Fire devices - just look for 'BorrowBox' in your app store to download or follow the links below to download directly.

How do I register for an BorrowBox account?
When you first use the service you have to register for an account; after this all you need is your library card number and PIN to log in.
There are two ways to register for an account;
1. Using the BorrowBox App
- Go to your app store - Apple, Android and Kindle Fire
- Search for, download and install the 'BorrowBox' app
- Open the app
- Sign in with your library card
- Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions
- If you choose cancel you will not be able to use the service
- Enter your email address, display name and newsletter options
- Tap Done.
- You now have a BorrowBox account and can use the app to search, borrow and download books.
2. Using the BorrowBox website
- Firstly log in on the Virtual Library then follow the BorrowBox link
- Click 'Sign In'
- Click the Sign In button
- Sign in with your library card number (barcode) and PIN
- Click Sign In
- Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions
- Enter your email address, display name and newsletter options
- Click Submit.
Are new titles added to the BorrowBox catalogue?
Yes, there are new titles added regularly. You can see the details of these new audiobooks titles here.
How many ebooks and audiobooks titles can I have on loan at one time?
You can borrow and download up to 15 ebooks and 15 audiobook titles; they are loaned for up to three weeks.
If you have 15 ebook or audiobook files on loan, you cannot download another one until the loan period expires or you return one of the fifteen.
To see the time remaining on a loan, log in to your account and go to your loans page. When the loan period expires for a title, you can no
longer access it.
How do I browse the available titles by genre/subject?
To see a full browsable list of titles by genre or subject, use the genres or categories options.
How do I see the books I have borrowed?
To see your loans, how long they have left before they expire, etc. click on 'My Loans' or 'My Account'.
Can I reserve books?
Yes, the books are sold to us on a one book one borrow basis, if the title is on loan already you will be given the option to 'Reserve' it - this will place a reservation on the title and take
one from your loan limit.
You will be informed when it is available to be borrowed and downloaded.
You can view your reservations by clicking on 'My Loans' or 'My Account'.
Can I renew books without downloading the file a second time?
Yes, you can renew your book twice.
Can I return books files from 'My Loans'?
Yes, you can return items early if you have finished them. Click on 'My Loans' or 'My Account' and click the 'Return' button.
How do I listen to audiobooks in the car?
You will need the appropriate connection that works with your smartphone, tablet and car stereo - usually bluetooth. Contact your device manufacturer for specific requirements.
