Library Card FAQs
You can access fabulous up to date e-books, audiobooks, magazines, and newspapers from home using your smartphone, tablet, laptop, PC or Mac... All you need is a library card number and PIN!
Don’t have a PIN?
Click here and we will email your PIN to you.If you do not receive an e-mail from us within 5 minutes please Contact Us and we will update your library record and resend your PIN.
What resources do you have and how do I use them?
BorrowBox
For audiobooks which can be downloaded and read offline.
Download the BorrowBox app and register for an BorrowBox account by clicking on 'Sign In';
- Enter 'Bed' to search for your library service - select 'Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire'
- log in with your library card number and PIN
- Enter your e-mail address, display name and newsletter preferences
Once you have an account you can search, borrow and download up to 10 audiobooks; they are loaned for three weeks.
If you wish to use the BorrowBox website instead on a laptop or PC just log in here and click on the BorrowBox logo.

Libby
For e-books, audiobooks and magazines which can be downloaded and read offline.
Download the Libby app and log in with your library card number and PIN.
Now you can search, borrow and download up to 10 e-books, 10 audiobooks and 10 magazines.
If you wish to use the Libbyapp.com website on a laptop or PC you will require additional software for the e-books called Adobe Digital Editions.
Log in here to access Libbyapp.com.

PressReader
For national and
international magazines which can be read online and offline.
Log in here and click on 'Sign In' to log in with your library card number and PIN, alternatively download the PressReader app and
'Sign In' with your library card number and PIN.
You will have 30 days access to search, read online or download the newspapers and magazines.
Once the 30 days are up you will need to 'Sign In' again with your library card number and PIN to restart the clock.
