Help Using the Advanced Search

The advanced search enables you to search for using one of the main navigation options, but also additional options.  You can then limit the search by language, library, authority and type of stock.

• Select the type of search you want to make:
  Author
  Title
  Keyword
  Author/Keyword
  Series
  Subject
  Class
• You can choose one or all of the other options that are available:
• Children's stock only - you can limit your search to only children's items.  Simply click in the box.
• Language - scroll through the dropdown list and click on the language you want to select it.
• Authority - this enables you to search for stock held in either Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire or Luton Libraries.
• Library - you can also look for stock in one specific library by selecting the library from the dropdown list.
• Type of stock - limit your search further by selecting one of these options. This is particularly useful when you are looking for something where there are likely to be different formats available.
• When you have selected all the options click on the 'Search' button at the bottom of the page.
• The results will be displayed as with other searches. Click on the entry that you would like to know more about.
• Click on 'More Details' to see where copies are held and if they are available.
• To request click 'Add to Basket' and then click the 'Reserve' button in your basket, at the top right hand side of the screen.
