Help on Renewing Your Loans
To renew your loans, click on 'Loans and Renewals' on the navigation.
If you have not logged on you will be asked to Sign In by
typing in your Library Card number and PIN.
If you do not know your PIN you can request one here.
How do I renew my loans?
- When you have logged on you will be shown a summary page of Your
Loans.
This page shows you all the items you have on loan, listing the title, author, when it is due back and any pending charges. - To Renew All - Click on the 'Renew All' button at the bottom of your list of loans. This process will renew EVERYTHING on your card, books, DVDs, CDs, etc. This means that any chargeable items will be renewed and the new hire charge added to your account.
- To Renew individual items - Select the items you wish to renew by clicking in the box next to the titles. Then click the 'Renew Selected' link at the bottom of the page.
Some of my loans are under a heading non-renewable - can I renew them?
There are a number of reasons why your items are listed as non-renewable,
for example they have been requested by someone else, or they have been
renewed the maximum number of times without being seen in a library. The
maximum number of renewal is 10 in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire
Libraries, and from 2nd April 2012 Luton Libraries allow 5 renewals.

stating your name and library card number. In the two instances above
you will be given a grace period to enable you to return the item to the
library.
Renewing Inter-Library Loans
If you have books on loan that have been borrowed from another library
service (excluding Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Luton
Libraries) you will not be able to renew it online. This is because
the books are loaned to us for a set period of time, so we need to check
that it is still within date and if not ask the loaning authority for
permission to extend the loan period.

I have my children's cards linked to mine - can I renew their loans too?
Yes you can. If your child's card is linked to yours their name will appear below your loans under the heading 'Your Guarantee's'. Click on their name to see their loans and follow the same renewing process. To return to your loans summary click on the 'Loans and Renewals' link on the navigation.
Renewals Confirmation page
This page shows you the items that have been renewed and the date they are now due back. If there are any costs involved, such as overdue or hire charges these will be shown here.
To return to your summary click on Loans and Renewals on the navigation, or
select one of the other links.
Don't forget to 'Sign Out' when you are finished.
