c1340: The chancel, vestry and tower of the church date from c1340, but the rest of the church was rebuilt in the 15th century and the chancel remodelled. There is a separate bell tower, one of only 36 churches in Britain with detached towers.

1775: Thomas Batchelor, farmer, poet, agricultural writer and inventor of a shorthand system born here on the 25th September.

1796: Part of the parish was enclosed.

1847: National School, Church End, built in 1847 for 140 children.

1873: Much of the church including the whole of the chancel was extensively restored under the direction of Sir Gilbert Scott.

1895: The church organ installed. The organ, which is a Bevington was built in 1863.

1938-39: Extensive repairs carried out on the bell tower which had badly deteriorated. The work was carried out under the direction of Sir Albert Richardson at a cost of 1,100.

1985: Work on the bypass begins.

1986:  Urgent repair work required on the church to the cost of 50,000.
