How to make your old map
  • Click on the small image of the 1902 map of Bedford (above) and print a copy.
  • Cover a flat surface with some newspaper and place your map on top.
  • Dab the tea bag (squeezed out slightly) all over the map to give it a brown tint.
  • Allow to dry.
  • This next stage is optional
If you would like your map to have an oily sheen, wipe it all over with a piece of cotton wool soaked in cooking oil. Allow it to dry again.
  • Roll into a tube or scroll.
  • Wrap the ribbon round the tube and fasten with the seal.
  • Your map is complete!
