THE `SPANISH FLU` IN BEDFORD AND BEYOND at Bedford Central Library
October 1918 saw the Great War finally approaching the end. An outbreak of flu in early summer had caused major casualties on both sides, but now it was back in a much deadlier form. This talk examines the impact both locally and worldwide of a pandemic that claimed at least 50 million lives. Tickets are £1 each available from Bedford Central Library in advance.
